First gig for a while..

Actually a little apprehensive about tonight's gig.. first one for a while, and first one in absolutely ages where we haven't headlined. Could be hard work..

Wahey, new photos have come back.. here's a sneaky preview.

I'm not pointing any fingers, but I've spotted that someone in the band is completing the friends requests of only the pretty/scantily-clad ones rather than going through the backlog... hmm.. I think I know who it is..

Preparing for 2007

"In the aftermath of new year celebrations, 2007 is just about starting to feel like it's kicking in, with the new year's resolutions dropping off and fading to make way for the real plans now being made.

Over Christmas, we agreed the final details of the management contract and no doubt this will pave the way for us towards bigger and better things over the next year!"

Indeed so, according to the public-friendly, positive vibes of our website text.. at Borg Central it is of course a more scepticism-laden view. Entering the fourth year of Subsource, a beast which has evolved many times over since starting out - and as much as the possibility of 'success' creeps ever nearer, also come the risks and responsibilities assosciated with that. (My new game is to try and predict how Subsource will break-up or end - it's not that I'm negative, it's just so we can take action now to make sure it doesn't happen.) The worries of certain tensions within the band are coming more into the spotlight but certainly I'm looking forward to the added dimension with the introduction of Bruce into the overall gameplan to streamline how we're working.

In other news, we attended a photo shoot yesterday in the Old Street area of London.. thanks loads to Luke Reynolds for his great direction. Last time we had photos done, Nelly attempted to sabatage the photo shoot by managing to cut himself multiple times whilst shaving on the morning of the shoot. This time, he somehow managed to infect the Achilles' tendon of his right leg by tripping and scratching himself with his overgrown and unhygenically-kept toenail of his left foot. I am currently in the process of developing a theory about a pact that Nelly made with the devil whereby he received a healthy dose of drum virtuosity in exchange for haphazard clumsiness and unluckiness. If so, I bet the devil creamed himself over this one... we did.

Luckily, Nelly's veterinerian girlfriend Kate has him on dog medication to ease the inflammation and is tending to the wound. The demise of Subsource due to the drummer's leg being amputated would not have been an outcome that I could have predicted.

Photos should be a-coming through soon!
