Plug & Play, Reading

We're all packed for Glasto but it seems like a million miles away as we stop off at an unlikely venue: a rehearsal studio tucked away in the heart of an industrial estate in Reading, where we get greeted by Tom - he's one of those avid music lovers who wants to push good new music to people in a town where 'mainstream' nights out mean getting drunk and starting a brawl. After sunlight goes down, the fruits of the lighting guy's work kick into action and we're left with an impressive little club vibe that's certainly starting to draw the right crowd and certainly deserves more attention than it's getting. Take heed people in Reading - Plug'n'Play is definitely a place you should be visiting frequently, across a variety of genres depending on the night. A small stage for us meant a plug or two popped out and cut power during the set but hey, shit happens.

A couple of hours nap before we play isn't quite enough to keep us rested until we reach Glasto. We set off from Reading at 4am and steal a couple more hours sleep at James' place in Bath then head for Bristol as shops open to buy some musical equipment that got broken at Reading.
