Efficiency drive..

The past couple of weeks have seen a major upheaval in how we've been working at Subsource.. and I can happily say it doesn't feel like the same band as it did a couple of weeks ago. It's all gone very organised and office-like.. buzzwords like 'communication' and 'deadlines' are abound. The thing that has changed our work pattern the most is a new forum/bulletin board on our site.. not quite sure how we managed without it before but it's been invaluable.. surreal at the same time. Imagine Spinal Tap having board meetings over a coffee and discussing project management.. it's really not far off. Part of the forum is going public so get registered and say hi!

In other news, we're bracing ourselves for our biggest gig so far - headlining the Beatherder festival alongside Dreadzone and Eat Static. We're so up for this one. Posted by Picasa

Gig Review: 11th June, Vibe Bar

Seated audiences can work for us after all. Just off the hustle and bustle of Brick Lane on a warm lazy Sunday, the select audience who braved the indoor temperatures were also treated to a great VJ display (thanks to Luke for coming down).

A little quiet on the gigging side of things over the coming month (promoters avoiding the World Cup action), but things never get less busy. Posted by Picasa

Week's break

Being completely away for a week, avoiding all activity with the band is a surreal experience. In an occupation where being obssessed with your job is a prime requisite - an occupation where you have to be very, very conscious to NOT talk about your job all the time for fear of sounding arrogant or boring your company to death (yet I probably do frequently) - landing yourself in an environment completely alien for a temporary amount of time can do wonders for your headspace. I'm forcing myself to see a different perspective, I'm learning to hate what I love so I can choose to love it at the right time and like a bad healthcare insurance commerical, I'm trying desperately not to let myself forget that every minute is both precious and valuable.. you can do so much in a minute if you're not sitting blankly staring at a computer screen if only you'd just stop caring so much and just write what comes to you.

Well we've got our first hard-format worldwide release through MotoGP 360 which is out tomorrow (Friday) for XBox. It's a good job I'm not a cynic or else I'd be thinking that the only people that are actually going to hear us there are nerds with lots more money than sense who happen to like motorbikes. Actually, we made our international debut via some teenage girls' TV show, but we kinda kept that under the lid a little bit in order to save our macho *cough* image. Can't remember what it was called... Twinkle or Wishy or something like that... will have to find out. I'm curious now and oughta see if I can get hold of the show...Posted by Picasa
