Cheerleaders!
Thick in the midst of writing and although I'm hesitant to talk too much about our new tracks until they're done, this one's looking pretty exciting... today we went into the studio to record our 'cheerleaders', locally recruited from the local cheerleading brigade ahem. Brimming and bursting with enthusiasm, they've done a great job (with some wonderful direction on our part of course) and I expect it'll be another couple of months before we eventually turn it into something that sounds semi-decent...
Thanks loads to Natasha, Amelia, Franchesca and Polly.

The Fear
Too often I'm avoiding writing these days - the chance to make something brilliant is also the chance to fail and not quite reach what you were trying for. And we're perfectionists. And self-critical. It's so easy to be complacent with ambition and have it just sit there in life's background, it's only when you really strive for it that you realise you might not have ever been capable in the first place and that's pretty hard to swallow.

Gig Review: Shefstock
What an incredible feat - Shefstock kicked off at 4pm on Saturday and ran through until late on Sunday. About 10 live bands, acoustic stuff, nice big dance tent - you get a lot here for the ridiculous £2 asking fee. Gotta say a big congrats to the organisers.
Had a really great set despite a couple of mis-starts (technical problems - we expect them now) and no lights. As we kicked off with 'Keeping It Live' though, the build-up of a dancing crowd, the lighting rig coming on and the fireworks going off in the distance all culminated into a pretty memorable moment. Not one that I'll be telling the grandchildren about, but one of the more serene memories that you don't feel the need to describe and you just feel quietly content knowing that it happened at some point.
The Planet Angel gig that we've really been looking forward to has been postponed until October unfortunately. In the meantime we're all busy writing, some of the new stuff is looking promising.
