Gig Review: Watershed 13th Oct 2005 (John Peel Night)

Well this gig turned up out of nowhere, we were only asked to do it from last night's Watershed gig and we were more than happy to oblige. Especially when we found out we'd be supporting a group with two ex-members of legendary 'The Smiths'. Only when we arrived did we find out that actually they'd cancelled, hence we were being booked in as a replacement. Heaven knows, we were miserable then.*

The night was absolutely amazing, and gotta really congratulate the Spill team for orchestrating the night. (shout outs to Dom, Chris, Nav and Neil) An absolute honour to headline a night on John Peel Night and needless to say, the other bands and organisers were some of the friendliest we've come across. You can tell from the look in their eyes when the Spill guys talked about music and bands... they've an incredulous passion for new live, good music. The spirit of John Peel lives on here. With the quality and diversity of the bands tonight, I've no doubt everyone there - whether musician, organiser or music lover - did him proud tonight.
