Busy gigging etc.
Hmm, yet another post saying we're working on more tracks, been busy promoting ourselves etc. etc. If there's anyone considering a career in music reading this who thinks it's going to be exciting every second, then that's really not the case. It amazes me to see how many people think about taking up a career as a musician and how undedicated they actually are to working towards it. There are a heck of a lot of hopeless wannabes out there who feed off the hope of 'making it big' but just don't have enough talent, or enough initiative and drive to do it. For me, it's the knowing that I might be one of those people who's not realising it that gets me really motivated.
I heard the story of the guy who got picked up recently by a major label... he was working as a waiter and was asked to sing, 'Happy Birthday' to a customer one night. Dido's manager happened to be sitting in the restaurant and took a liking to his voice. Can't remember what band he's singing for now.
